An independent Film Editor based out of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Saman is a past Fellow of the Asian Film Academy (2013) and a professional participant at Berlinale Talents (2015).  Over the years, Saman has worked on several Sri Lankan and international projects ranging from commercials to short films, from commercials to short films, documentaries and feature films. His films have screened at festivals across the globe and won many accolades, including the Nominee – Golden Leopard, Locarno Film Festival 2015 (Switzerland), Jury Special Mention – TOKYO FILMeX 2015 (Japan), FIPRESCI Award – Busan International Film Festival 2018 – New Currents (South Korea) and Best Documentary, Women Filmmakers Section, Dhaka International Film Festival 2023 (Bangladesh).

His international collaborations include THE RED PHALLUS (2018), ANHAD (2022) and Nepali Feature film The Red Suitcase scheduled for a 2023 release.
Saman has just commenced working on a new collaboration with an Indian Filmmaker.
